Energy in Action Update Helping Us Help You... the Time is Now!
"When I donate money to ACEP, that money is being pooled with other member contributions to make a significant impact. ACEP is making the difference I can’t make alone - and I feel empowered. Together, we can transform the world."
-Debby Vajda, LCSW, DCEP ACEP President We are so grateful for all the donations coming in to help us fulfill the $50K matching fund opportunity. As of December 14 we've raised $20,332 (for a matching total of $40,664)... over 40% toward our goal!
We have only two weeks leftto raise the remaining $29,668. But we know this is possible! If you haven't contributed yet, we hope you'll support us to work on your behalf on a national and global level to make EP widely available. Together, with your financial contribution (at any level possible for you),we can: change policy for the treatment of veterans with PTSD; ensure that victims of tragedies such as the Boston bombing will have access to EP; significantly lower the cost of health care; reduce the dropout rates in colleges and high schools; and much much more. Join the Movement...Donate now REMEMBER: TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS ARE MATCHED ONLY THROUGH DEC 31
Wake up Wikipedia: Petition on Fire!
One exciting example of how ACEP is currently working on your behalf is the recent Change.org petition we initiated to change Wikipedia's negatively biased and factually incorrect stance against holistic approaches, and allow for true scientific discourse about holistic healing modalities.
With our incredible network of practitioners and organizations, we've gathered over 3,000 signatures in the first few days of the petition... but we'd love to get to 100,000! Thank you to all who have already signed.
If you haven't yet signed or shared, ACEP--and the world--needs your voice! Please sign and forward far and wide

Movers and Shakers: What ACEP Members Are Up To Here's a recent note from Kristin Holthuis, MD, DCEP. Kristin is an ACEP board member and CEP trainer based in Costa Rica: I am excited since I have been invited to open the year in the College for Psychologists in Costa Rica with a conference about EP in the installations of the College as an introduction to an official EFT course in their installations some time later which they already approved of! Their president promised to participate!!
Probably I will be giving another talk about 'alternative therapies' to the board of the College of Psychologists, including ACEP's strategies.
And also I have been invited back in the National Psychiatry Hospital to teach EFT level 2 to psychologists, psychiatrists and staff-nurses. EFT level 1 had a huge success and unanimous evaluations of 100/100!
Another hospital's Department of Psychiatry then invited me for an introduction talk about EP and they liked it so much they are considering to offer a complete course in the hospital too for mental health professionals.
Well guys, I have found that ACEP and APA approval have been totally crucial to their willingness to open up, so...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for giving me courage and inspiration at distance...and for inspiring Costa Rica!!
Much love and inspiration to all of you!!
Kristin

ACEP Board Approves APA Task Force By John Diepold The ACEP Board of Directors has sanctioned a Task Force to explore ways that ACEP members can more fully participate in the American Psychological Association (APA), and to bring energy psychology methods and models into this larger professional arena. The inverse would also be true in that interested APA Members could become more informed and involved with ACEP; a win-win situation.
Because the APA is an organization of psychologists, we are requesting our ACEP member psychologists to inform if you are a Member of APA and if you are a Member of Division 29 (Psychotherapy). This is important, as we need to work through our APA Members in getting an assessment of how many voices we already have. If you are a psychologist, please email John Diepold (jdiepold1@verizon.net) regarding: - Are you a member of APA?
- Are you a member of Division 29?
- If not an APA member, would you consider joining?
- If not a member of Division 29, would you consider joining?
Thank you for your attention and response to this much-needed information!
TFT Documentary: In Honor of Roger Callahan
In honor of Roger Callahan, ACEP contributed $2,500 toward the completion of "From Trauma to Peace," a documentary showing the power of TFT in trauma relief work in Rwanda and Uganda.
We hope this trailerwill inspire you to help bring this story of true hope and peace into the world. TFT Foundation board member, Mary Crowley, writes Peace IS within our grasp. It is at the tip of our fingers…literally....A mayor in the Northern Province of Rwanda commented: "People who I have never seen smile, are smiling. People who were not productive are now productive.” Our documentarian just returned from Rwanda, filming people’s stories about how TFT has changed their lives. He said "…each story included a statement like, ‘I never smiled in my life until I was treated with TFT’.” To contribute to the completion of the film, visit www.tftfoundation.org
ACEP Committee Corner: An Update from the Ethics Committee The Ethics Committee made a lunchtime presentation at the last conference on ethics and good practice regarding the use of intuition and other non-sensory sources of information. This topic, raised by an ACEP member, stimulated some lively and useful debate.
The Committee has been busy planning the next presentation at the 2014 conference. This topic, again raised by an ACEP member, addresses the ethics of prayer and proxy healing. As with the previous conference presentation, the purpose will not be to provide rules or definitive answers, but to stimulate thought and discussion.
The Committee is always pleased to give thought to any ethical issues or dilemmas raised by ACEP members.
The current Committee members are: Phil Mollon [Chair and Board Member], Harriet Mall, Michael Galvin, Sara Gold and Kirstin Warkentin
Please be in touch if you have questions or comments: mollon@clara.net Best wishes, Phil Mollon, PhD
Where in the world... are you? Add yourself to the ACEP Member Map Dear ACEP member,
I'm writing to remind you that you can add your own marker to the map of active ACEP members which is linked to the ACEP web site on the home page under Resource Links. This map will help you to stay in touch with other members who share your interests, and let the public find you if you offer counselling or courses. This is a free service to ACEP members and it’s very easy for you to add your information. Just right-click at the location on the map where you would like to add your marker and fill in the form with as much or as little information as you care to publish. You can always add and modify data later. Visit the map now to see who’s already there, and add yourself if you like. Best regards, David MacKay
Dr. Bob Weighs in with 60 Minutes: Op Ed Response on Treating PTSD Part of the beauty of online media is being able to easily add your voice to the discussion. ACEP Exectuvive Director, Bob Schwarz, recently weighed in on a 60 Minutes piece focused on treating veterans suffering with PTSD with modalities that are out-of-date as stand alone therapies. Please visit the page and "like" or comment on his response (his user name is DOCTORBOB1000).
On November 26, he wrote: It is amazing that our soldiers get the best and most modern bullets and the our veterans get relatively old, and out of date treatment. It is too bad that the VA and 60 MINUTES are suggesting that prolonged exposure is a new and breakthrough treatment. It is neither. Both EMDR and Emotional Freedom Techniques or energy psychology have been shown to be much faster and more effective treatments than prolonged exposure, and with much less pain and negative side effects described elsewhere in these comments. I am a psychologist who has worked with a great deal of PTSD in many different populations. It is too bad that 60 minutes does not do a story on energy psychology techniques such as EFT. In these approaches, clients focus on the traumatic events while tapping on acupuncture points. The result is the body calms down. While it may seem magical or weird, there is a lot of research and clinical experience that shows it works in 6 sessions with 85% effectiveness. Please visit the page and add your voice to the discussion

We are also offering three full-tuition scholarships to the conference available. All students who attend our conference will also receive a free ACEP membership for one year.

Collective Healing: Mandela Energy Courtesy of Mary Hammond
He was the best of us. He truly befriended his enemies. He was brave, patient and lived without hatred. He forgave. His image fills fills our screens and our hearts this month as the world honors his life. Using your preferred energy strategy, focus on being your best and offering it to the world. Think about the person that has hurt you the most, that you have the most anger with and send that person love and light. Then go a step further and forgive. Then expand that energy of love and light and send it out to your community, city, state/province and country. Feel this energy meeting at the geographical borders erasing them. Strengthen the rainbow world that Mandela strove for.
