FAQs about ACEP EFT Training and Certification
I thought ACEP was a US organization.
ACEP is based in the US, but is an international organization. ACEP has 1200 members and over 300 of its members are from outside of the USA. There are over 200 members in the UK and Europe alone.
During consultation will I be able to present videos in a language other than English?
Until we expand the program into other languages, all video sessions must be conducted in English (by both practitioner and client). Once we are able to consider other languages, our first choice for international consultants will be to work with those who are certified by our program, so if you speak two languages and are able to submit your sessions in English, you may get the chance to help spread EFT in your country. We apologize for any inconvenience this might present.
If I become certified in EFT, will I be certified to teach EFT courses?
The credentials in this program represent highly qualified practitioners of EFT, but do not evaluate or represent the participants' skill in teaching EFT. While holding this certification does not preclude anyone from teaching EFT independently, it does not include certification as an EFT trainer or instructor for ACE.
f I already have a DCEP or CEHP, does that count for anything towards EFT certification?
Yes, it does. If you have already earned a DCEP or CEHP, there are a number of discounts throughout the EFT Certification program that can save you 20% on the initial application and on the EFT College.
Will I need to renew my Certifications?
Yes, renewals are every two years. Every two years you will need 12 CE Credits in EFT or Energy Psychology. You will also need to maintain your membership in ACEP and pay the £79 / € 91 renewal fee.
This is so exciting. How do I become a member?
You can become an ACEP member now by clicking here.
Does this mean that ACEP is becoming an EFT organization?
No. One of the biggest concerns that the ACEP board had about launching this program was that it might be perceived by the rest of the EP world that ACEP was becoming a totally EFT organization. In fact, some people already perceive ACEP as an EFT-centric organization.
The fact is that ACEP has been and always will be dedicated to an eclectic approach to energy health methods based on meridian, chakra or biofield interventions. The launching of this certification program does not change that. We are continuing with our foundational certification program offering both the Diplomate and Certified Health Practitioner certifications in comprehensive energy psychology and we will entertain additional specialty certification programs in other methods if certain criteria are met.
Will ACEP still be offering DCEP and CEHP certifications in Comprehensive Energy Psychology?
Why did ACEP decide to offer a certification program in EFT?
- We feel it is the most commonly used modality among our members.
- A preponderance of current completed research is EFT based.
- With Gary's departure from EFT training, we felt there was an educational vacuum occurring that our members would like filled.
- There is a great need to raise the bar in training and practice throughout the EP Field.
- Tina's interest in working with us was too great an opportunity, considering the first four points.
- In many ways this is a test. If this works as well as we expect, then ACEP would like to follow on with other modalities that have a large member base, a research base and qualified leaders and instructors who want to partner with ACEP.
