EFT Level 2 Overview

EFT Level II is the gateway to certification. Learn EFT theory and science, and the therapeutic use of EFT’s library of techniques. Deepen your knowledge from Level I, while enhancing your skills with the Movie Technique, Tearless Trauma, Chasing the Pain, Borrowing Benefits and others.

Pre-requisites: ACEP’s online EFT Level I, a 2-day EFT level 1 training, or 2 day EFT PS 1 training. Open to licensed mental health professionals, physicians, nurses or the international equivalent.

Objectives for EFT Level 2

  • Design and deliver an effective preframe about EFT to new clients.
  • Identify solutions for 5 of the most common challenges in using Tell the Story Technique.
  • Name 5 elements of an event that can be exaggerated to find new aspects.
  • Describe the difference between 0-10 evaluation and the use of a testing method.
  • Recognize and describe a cognitive shift.
  • Identify 4 distinct language patterns used for specificity.
  • Perform the “Movie Technique”.
  • Perform the “Chasing the Pain” Technique.
  • Perform the Tell the Story Technique on specific events.
  • Identify the “window of tolerance” in working with a client, and how to manage it.
  • Identify 2 testing methods used in operating EFT.
  • Design an effective 'Say This' test to find new aspects in a crescendo of a specific event.

Trainer - Michael DeMolina, MS, LPC, DCEP has been ACEP’s lead EFT trainer for over 7 years. He is a rare breed of trainer who understands and practices energy work and psychotherapy in both breadth and depth. Michael is a Diplomate in Comprehensive Energy Psychology (DCEP) and an ACEP Certified Advanced Practitioner of EFT. He is chairman emeritus of the National Qigong Association and was selected as a “National Expert in Qigong and Tai Chi” by the University of Illinois. He is also a nationally certified master addiction counselor and a master practitioner and trainer of Neuro-linguistic Programming. He served in the U.S. Army for four years as a behavioral science specialist. Michael is completing his PhD in psychology.

American Psychological Association (APA): ACEP is approved by the APA to sponsor CE for psychologists. ACEP maintains responsibility for this program and its content.


Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB): ACEP, provider #1048, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. ACEP maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 2/28/16 - 2/28/19. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers participating in this course will receive 12 continuing education clock hours.


National Board of Certified Counselors: The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5868. The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.


National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors: (NAADAC, 100504)


California: ACEP is an approved CE provider by the APA, ASWB and NBCC, which are recognized by CBBS to offer CEs for CA-based MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs. ACEP is an approved provider for the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #14626).


Florida: ACEP is an approved CE provider for FL Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy & Mental Health Counseling, Certified Master Social Workers and FL Board of Nursing (CE Provider#50-10765).   Emotional Freedom Techniques Level 2 course tracking #20-601893.


New York Social Workers: ACEP is recognized by the NY State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0164.


Acupuncturists: An application is pending with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Institute for Better Health (IBH) has been approved as a provider of CE/CNE/CME by the organizations listed below. IBH as the approved sponsor maintains responsibility for the educational activity offered and for following the standards and regulations for the organizations listed below.


Nurses: IBH is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.


Physicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the ACCME through the joint sponsorship of IBH and ACEP. Due to CE requirements from all major professional organizations including the APA, no CE / CME / CNE certificate for the entire workshop can be given if a person selects to leave prematurely unless prior arrangements have been made with the lead trainer.

To receive a CE certificate, attendees must be present for the full 2-Day workshop, signing in and out of each day and complete a course evaluation. No partial credit will be given. Hard copies of certificates will be distributed at the end of the second day of the workshop only to those who have attended the complete 12 hours of training.
