The ACEP Family Grows:
We are incredibly excited to welcome two seasoned, inspiring and talented people to the ACEP Home Office Team:

Cynthia Joba has been hired to fill the Strategic Communications and Marketing position we posted for in July of this year. She comes to ACEP with a solid business background that spans both the for-profit and non-profit sectors as well as twenty years of experience working with individuals in a mentoring and counseling capacity (including in depth work with energy systems). She has all the right qualities to help lift ACEP to the next level and we're thrilled to have her on board!

Megan Sage is an ICF-credentialed coach and ACEP member in the Philadelphia area who has stepped up with an incredible generosity of spirit this fall (dedicating 8-10 hours of volunteer work each week to ACEP as she pursues her PhD at the University of Pennsylvania). With her entrepreneurial background combined with her current pursuits in organizational development and leadership studies, ACEP couldn't be luckier to have her as part of the team.

As you can see, we're putting our "Plate is Full" Campaign dollars to excellent use--and celebrating our luck with all the amazing volunteer talent that keeps ACEP moving forward. But we haven't yet reached our financial goal to be able to fully support ACEP's capacity-building endeavors for the long haul (we would have loved to hire both Cynthia and Megan, but aren't yet in a position to do so). Please consider contributing to the cause that will help ACEP support you more fully as a practitioner by furthering public awareness of and participation in this amazing emerging field we know as Energy Psychology.

CLICK HERE TO DONATE (the Plate is Full campaign is the 4th option on the page).

Volunteer opportunities: If you're not yet in a position to donate financially, please consider volunteering on an ACEP committee or working remotely with the home office to help grow membership and promote our training events. Email Emily Snider at to explore the options.

ACEP Committee Corner:
An Update from the Education Committee

The Education Committee has been very busy since the 2013 conference wrapped in early June. As ACEP is a Continuing Education (CE) provider for many professional licensing boards, we have ongoing (and often increasing) standards that we must meet to remain in compliance with board requirements. A significant portion of ACEP members hold professional memberships and we have sought approval to be a provider to their respective boards from the time of ACEP’s inception.

Each year, the Quality Assurance (QA) Committee, an Education subcommittee, starts reviewing breakouts that were presented at the annual conference in July. Breakouts are reviewed for points that our continuing education boards require of us (everything from limiting the amount of time the presenter discusses his/her background to ensuring that material is supported by research). Presenters are sent feedback from the subcommittee (consisting of ACEP peer reviewers) and evaluations from conference participants.

Some of you may have noticed that the online conference evaluation gets lengthier with each year. This is a direct result of what the CE boards tell us we must ask our participants. Thanks to you all for assisting in completing these in their entirety. Gratitude also goes to all on the QA Committee who have served since this committee began a few years ago: Gloria Arenson, Michele Barone, Julie George, Joan Kaylor, Linda Goranson and Rachel Michalesen. Thanks also to ACEP board members who supported and assisted in this effort this year.

Volunteer Opportunity: The Selection Subcommittee (Gloria Arenson, Mandi Freger, Bob Schwarz, Carole Stern, and Debby Vajda) is looking for representatives for other CE Boards for which we currently do not have representation. This committee must carefully read each submission for the conference for many details that are pertinent to the board requirements, and to ensure that we deliver an inviting conference. Each year, more and more submissions make these decisions more difficult.

In Memorium: Candace Pert, Mind-Body Pioneer

On Thursday, September 12, 2013 Candace Pert, PhD passed away unexpectedly.

As you may know, Pert was one of the pioneers in mind-body medicine. She was also a friend to many of us at ACEP and was a keynote speaker at two of our conferences.

She will be warmly remembered for her curiosity, her towering intellect, her infectious sense of humor and her deep humanity and soulfulness...............

Energy Field is Seeking Successes:

Please note that all articles require written permission from the client, and personal and identifying details should be omitted to ensure anonymity. Word limit is 1,500 words.

The next deadline is December 1, 2013. Please submit your Successes to Energy Field Editor Marlene Cameron at

Congratulations to our new DCEP, CEHP and ACP-EFT Certified Practitioners!
We are so pleased to have Lisa McMichael, DCEP, John Kenley, CEHP and Helen Patricia Bressler, ACP-EFT join our community of Certified Practitioners in CEP and EFT respectively. Congratulations on your hard work and dedication to this transformative field.

Wikipedia Challenge:

Some of you may be aware that Wikipedia appears to have a dedicated cadre (cabal?) of editors who, under the guise of promoting ‘objectivity’ have published negative articles about EFT, TFT and other CAM modalities on Wikipedia.

We are in the process of researching wiki rules and challenging the wiki skeptics. This will require a team effort over several months. We already have a small dedicated group being focalized by Vicki Allen and Jeff Tyson.

If you have energy/interest for this issue, please join us! (Take a look at the wiki entry for Emotional Freedom Techniques and its Talk Page.)

To join us in these efforts, please contact:

Collective Healing: The Energy of Atonement

The recent High Holy Days in the Jewish tradition ends with Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, when one commits to reparation of injury or wrongs to others. Striking your preferred energetic pose, merge with this universal energy of atonement. Focus on letting go of feelings of revenge, anger, hurt, guilt, shame--knowing that the universe has better uses for your energy.

Extend this energy of atonement to the "wrongs" in your community trusting that your community can come together to create safety, prosperity and joy. Then extend this atonement energy to the world's wrongs, however daunting that may seem, knowing that collectively we can bring healing and atonement to all.
