WHAT IS ENERGY PSYCHOLOGY?

Energy Psychology (EP) is a collection of mind-body approaches for understanding and improving human functioning. EP focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, sensations, and behaviors, and known bioenergy systems (such as meridians and the biofield).

 


HOW CAN THESE TECHNIQUES HELP ME?

The techniques you’ll learn in this workshop are self-administered and promote greater wellbeing at many levels including:

In this workshop, we’ll show you how to teach your students/children the simple-to-use strategies that can help to:

  • Reduce academic and general anxiety and fear
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Reframe limiting beliefs
  • Release effects from adverse childhood experiences
  • Neutralize negative emotions
  • Self-regulate emotions and behavior

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

At the end of this one day workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe at least 3 emotional or behavioral characteristics in children that occur as a result of stress and trauma.

  • Identify at least 3 characteristics of Highly Sensitive children/teens and 3 common socio-emotional challenges of this population.
  • Demonstrate how to apply basic EFT.
  • List at least 3 strategies for introducing EFT to children of various ages.
  • Demonstrate at least 3 EP techniques for children to use to help manage the effects of stress and trauma and reframe limiting thoughts and beliefs.
  • Develop an action plan to integrate Energy Psychology tools into your work with children.

Suzanne Velasquez-Sheehy, EdD, who will lead the presentation, is a certified EP Practitioner, teacher and school administrator, specializing in increasing academic performance.  She is the creator of Stress Less and BOLT to Success SEL programs and the author of an EP toolkit for teachers. In this workshop, Suzanne will be presenting Basic EFT and strategies for teaching EFT to children.

  

Gail Gillespie, Ph.D. is a licensed school psychologist who teaches EFT and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of school-aged children and their families.  Gail will be presenting the research on stress and trauma in children and help facilitate the exercises.

 

Cindy Baker, M.Ed., DCEP is a licensed school psychologist specializing in energy psychology tools to treat stress and anxiety. She has taught EFT to over 1,000 students in grades K-12 and helped develop several ACEP conference offerings through the Humanitarian Committee over the past six years.  Cindy will be co-presenting the research on stress and trauma in children and lead the group in developing their action plans.

 Jeannette Folan is a registered Integrative Health Coach, author, and educator specializing in the Highly Sensitive trait.  Jeannette will be presenting the characteristics for highly sensitive children and teens and techniques to support self-regulation.
  

Jondi Whitis is an Accredited Certified Advanced Practitioner and Master Trainer of Trainers for EFT International, a former teaching artist and coauthor of Tapping Star - tapping resources for relieving stress in the classroom.  Jondi will be presenting strategies for working with children and how to introduce techniques to use with various age groups.
