About
Chris Bouguyon is a veteran, martial artist, and wellness educator whose life journey has transformed personal pain into powerful purpose. His martial arts training began in 1978, born from a need to protect himself from abuse and violence. Over the years—from high school and military service in the U.S. Navy to full-contact fighting—anger and PTSD became both his armor and his fuel. But when Chris became a husband and father, he realized that the same anger that once protected him now stood in the way of meaningful connection. He felt trapped in an “all or nothing” mindset: warrior or victim—no in-between. That began to change in 1991, when he was introduced to Tai Chi and Qigong as part of his Kung Fu training. Through these internal arts, Chris discovered a new kind of strength—rooted not in force, but in stillness, structure, and self-awareness. He learned to manage chronic pain, process emotional trauma, and trust his body—perhaps for the first time in his life. Each step forward gave him the courage to go deeper. Setbacks became lessons. The healing journey, once unimaginable, became his path—and his purpose. Today, Chris draws on his lived experience and decades of training to help others facing physical, emotional, or mental pain. He’s known for his deep compassion and ability to guide students toward profound shifts in perspective and inner strength. For Chris, this isn’t just work. It’s “Heart Work”—and it’s what he was meant to do.
